CREST
CREST is the international accreditation and certification body for the technical cyber security industry, including penetration testing.
What it is
CREST (Council of Registered Ethical Security Testers) accredits organisations that deliver penetration testing, incident response and threat intelligence, and certifies the individuals who perform that work. A CREST-aligned engagement follows a recognised, repeatable methodology with defined scoping, rules of engagement and reporting.
Background
CREST is a not-for-profit body, originally established in the United Kingdom and now operating internationally. Its accreditations are widely referenced in procurement and by regulators as evidence that a security testing provider works to a professional standard.
How EthicalStrike helps
EthicalStrike runs network penetration testing to a consistent, authorised methodology — scoped engagements, recorded authorisation, and structured reporting — and maps each finding so your assessments align with CREST-style expectations for rigour and evidence.
EthicalStrike supports your compliance efforts by testing your network and mapping findings to this framework. It is not a substitute for formal certification or an audit by an accredited body.
